AVANTI's Management Team

AVANTI is a team of professionals led by Raghav and Devika Modi from New Delhi, India. The couple is deeply driven to build an innovative organization that is in harmony with nature, animal conservation and human rights. They pride AVANTI’s ability to meet deadlines, follow stringent quality control processes, use exhaustive testing protocols and help their clients ideate and design inspired new collections. At the core of AVANTI’s business lies the intrinsic curiosity to explore new pathways, and a deep-rooted love for innovation and creativity.

This unique mix of passions drives all of AVANTI’s departments to constantly re-invent and improve its products through the use of unusual techniques, novel forms and materials, resulting in new solutions for their clients. All of AVANTI’s processes work towards one goal: Creating new ideas and products that serve the pet industry while creating a positive environmental impact.

Raghav Modi Managing Director

Born and brought up in New Delhi, Raghav started out as a hands-on entrepreneur at an early age. After studying at Modern School, he went to the Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, specializing in Economics, in 2004. Upon his return to India, he joined the family business and worked in every department across the production facility, understanding company processes and team structures at every level of the organisation. In 2017, he took over the firm as Managing Director. Since then, AVANTI has seen impeccable growth in many international market, and diversification in various new product categories.

My father chose the name AVANTI, as it means “Forward!” or “Let’s go!” in Italian. His drive and vision for the future, combined with his ability to take all challenges head-on continue to inspire me to go the extra mile, making AVANTI what it is today: a young, progressive, innovative and eco-friendly firm, creating true value in the world.

Devika Modi Director, Soft goods

Devika graduated from The London School of Economics (LSE) with an undergraduate degree in Economics and a Master’s in Business Management in 2005, and continued to work as an investment banker for over 13 years. In 2018, she joined the family-run business to head the toys division at AVANTI. Devika has lived and worked in London, Hong Kong and New Delhi, and brings with her a fresh, international perspective as well as a professional work ethic.

Building an organisation like AVANTI takes hard work and sharp focus. And yet, knowing that we create a positive impact not only for our customers and pets around the world, but for the people that work with us, the environment, and a better future for all, gives me the motivation to lean in every single day.

Rajesh Mittal Director, Finance

Rajesh joined AVANTI in 1982 as an Account’s Assistant. Having graduated as B. Com (Hons), LL.B., he worked his way from his initial starting position to Executive Officer, Commercial Officer and General Manager to Chief General Manager over the years. He is officially the longest-serving team member, and an integral part of AVANTI. Rajesh takes care of the firm’s finances in addition to all topics that revolve around legal, taxation, commercial, banking and HR.

When I started working with AVANTI almost forty years ago, the world we lived in was very different. Since then, many things have changed, from the material we nowadays use to the technology we have installed in our factory to our product development. And yet, a few things have remained: The fun of entrepreneurship, the love of creating amazing products, and the will to build teams that are willing to go the extra mile. I am immensely proud to see AVANTI constantly evolving.

Diviya Jain Creative Head

As a graduate of Fine Art, and as a post graduate from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Diviya enriches the AVANTI team with her intense fervor for design, technique knowledge and sense of quality. With over 11 years of professional experience, leading projects with a multi-disciplinary approach, and having worked across India as well as Cambodia, her exposure to various cultures, trends, materials, understanding of end user needs and innovations has kept her abreast with the advancements in the creative sphere.

At AVANTI, we believe that living with a pet is an integral part of being human in this day and age. Thus, our products are designed to amplify the comfort and care between our customers and their beloved animals. The design process for a new product starts with meticulous research that feeds the design thinking process. We pay attention to detail in every aspect, such as trends, materials, colors, or packaging – just to name a few. As a result, AVANTI creates products that not only look and feel good but are also commercially oriented.

Akash Deep Director, Hard goods

With more than 16 years of professional experience in international marketing and business development, Akash, a graduate of PGDBA-Marketing from Symbiosis, Pune, is driving AVANTI’s global expansion plans. Since he joined AVANTI in 2013, he has worked in a variety of departments, such as sales, product development and business operations, and has a great understanding of the firm’s many moving parts.

Vijay Govind GM - HR & Compliance

A proactive and seasoned professional, with an Advance Diploma in HR Management, he comes with a diversified experience in HRM and expertise in developing, recommending and implementing overall Human Resource Strategies and Policies in support of business objectives. A strong blend of both, Vijay spearheads the Corporate & Plant HR of Avanti.

The AVANTI History

Many successful firms have humble origins, and AVANTI shares this story. Together with a small team, founder Mr. Sidharth Modi started out manufacturing rope toys for pets from a garage. After a few years of delivering innovative products at international quality, and with great personal persistence and charm, he built successful relationships with global companies (such as Hagen) to supply rope toys to their outlets worldwide.

He continued to work hard and, as a result, built long and lasting relationships with industry-leading brands such as Buying for Pets (IJS Vogal Group), Classic, Karlie, Flamingo, Camon as well as Hunter, giving AVANTI’s products a worldwide platform. Always looking for additional opportunities and innovations within the pet industry, Mr. Modi started developing other divisions and realized the full potential of the feeding category. Understanding that stainless steel utensils are a household staple in India, he ventured into developing stainless steel items for pets. From there, he further expanded the division which eventually became AVANTI’s core business.

Over the years, Mr Modi kept investing back into the manufacturing facility and the training of his teams, so that in 2016, AVANTI became a fully vertically integrated facility to produce these items which at the start, was a distant dream. At the same time, AVANTI further expanded into textiles and started the soft goods division under which both beddings and toys are manufactured. This new division has provided exponential growth to the company. With Mr. Modi’s son Raghav and his daughter-in-law Devika joining the team, and with its new 50,000 square foot facility inaugurated in 2020, AVANTI is now ready to expand even further into more product categories and markets.
